Every dollar of growth is a dollar of inventory bought months before a customer pays you for it, and Q4 does not care about your cash conversion cycle.
Retail and e-commerce are the two industries where a lender can see your revenue almost as it happens — card processor settlements, marketplace payouts and bank deposits land daily. That is why the fastest programs here are revenue-based: instead of two years of tax returns, underwriting reads your recent deposit and processor history, and repayment is taken as a fixed daily or weekly debit, or as a percentage of each day's card volume. Decisions commonly come the same day to three business days from a complete file.
Speed has a price. A revenue-based advance is quoted as a factor rate, not an APR, so the true annualised cost is usually well above a term loan — run it through our factor-rate calculator before you sign anything. For inventory that turns, a revolving line of credit is almost always the cheaper tool, because you repay and redraw with each cycle instead of paying for the whole season up front. When a retailer's purchase order is larger than your working capital, PO financing pays your supplier directly.
What actually moves the decision: the trailing three to six months of deposits, how many months show a positive trend, chargeback and refund rates, marketplace account standing, and whether inventory or ad spend is the real use of funds. Seasonal businesses should arrange the facility in the strong quarter — approvals are driven by trailing volume, so applying in your slowest month prices you at your worst numbers.
